Life With The Libbys | Portland, Maine Favorite Places for Food & Beverages



One of our favorite date nights is to wander around Portland, Maine getting a snack and cocktail at our favorite places. There is something so special about playing tourist in your own city. I never want to take for granted how lucky we are to live in a place filled with such incredible food, drinks, and great vibes. So whether you're a local looking for a new favorite or planning a weekend getaway to Portland, Maine here is a roundup of our favorite spots.



Brunch & Coffee

  • Forage Market - I crave the breakfast sandwich and cold brew combo.

  • LB Kitchen - Perfect for daytime coffee & a warm bowl or smoothie or check out their "golden hour menu" the oat butter popcorn is my fav.

  • Blake Orchard - a smoothie bowl like no other - get extra peanut butter, you don't regret it.

  • Eight 8 Donuts - the warm bamm bamm fruity pebble topped mini donuts are my favorite but you can't go wrong so just get the "sugar rush" variety pack.



Drinks (& maybe a snack)

  • Apres - I could spend all day just sitting in one of these booths with my girlfriends.If you love seltzers, this needs to be on your list.

  • Hunt & Alpine - This is my go-to. Popcorn & Hotel Nationale forever.

  • Blyth & Burrows - Come for the vibes & cool cocktails.

  • Luna Rooftop - Beautiful views on top of the Canopy hotel. Perfect for a pre-dinner drink.

  • Bayside Bowl - On a warm summer day, it doesn't get much better than a frozen marg & tacos.

  • Batson River - If you're in town for the holidays, this is the place to be.

  • Oxbow Brewery - Great indoor/outdoor space for every season. And make sure you stop at Duckfat's Frite Shack outside for the best fries in town.

  • Rising Tide & Austin Street If you love beer - you're in the right city. Stop at these two favorites that are side by side.

  • Paper Tiger - a new fav with fun cocktails and delicious snacks.



Dinner

  • Via Vecchia - If you love beautiful places, specialty cocktails, and Italian food this is your spot.

  • Eventide - It's probably already on your list. And yes, the lobster rolls are worth the wait.

  • Pai Men Miyake - A go to for us for dining in & take out when we're craving a ramen bowl & buns.

  • Boda - Just order everything & share it.

  • Empire - Upscale Chinese Kitchen with food that is to die for. Can't go wrong with anything but we love the bacon fried rice, garlic green beans, and char siu baos.

  • Bird & Co. - Our go to place for tacos (we love them so much they catered our baby shower).

  • Ottos - for the pizza lovers and those that want to try something different. Pulled pork scallion is my fav.
